SUMMARY:Lewes Tulip Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Lewes Tulip Celebration\, Celebrating our Dutch Heritage\nVarious sites throughout Lewes \n\nTiptoe to the Tulips Map\nPlant & Flower Sales\nHistory in Bloom Walking Tours\nFloral Demonstrations\nArt Exhibitions\n\nSponsored by Lewes in Bloom\, Lewes Chamber of Commerce\,  City of Lewes\, Lewes Historical Society and Southern Delaware Tourism\nFor information\, call 302 645-8073 or visit www.leweschamber.com \n13th ANNUAL LEWES TULIP CELEBRATION BLOOMS APRIL 1 – 17\, 2022 \nThe 13th  annual Lewes Tulip Celebration\, jointly sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom\, will be blossoming April 1 – 17\, 2022. The broad-based committee\, chaired by event founder Lewes Mayor Ted Becker\, includes Lewes in Bloom co-chairs and founder\, a representative from City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission and the Zwaanendael Museum. This year Lewes in Bloom funded the purchase of 26\,931 tulip and 3\,950 spring bulbs that were planted in fall 2021 by members of Lewes in Bloom.\nThe timing of the tulips’ appearance is an inexact science and either milder or colder weather in advance of the event dates can increase the probability that the dates of the celebration may not exactly coincide with the tulips blooming! The event dates (April 1-17) span three weekends. \nThe locations of the plantings will be identified on the map produced in association with the celebration. More than 100 varieties will be on display. \nTiptoe To The Tulips Map: The event organizers created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map that will be available in late March at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center located in the historic Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Copies of the map will be available at brochure boxes throughout the historic commercial district. The map lists more than 20 locations where the bulbs were planted. It also has a schedule of activities associated with the Tulip Celebration. \nTulip Sale: On April 15 & 16 Lewes in Bloom will be selling tulips at the Bank Street Plaza on Second Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. \nHistory in Bloom Walking Tours: The Lewes Historical Society and Lewes in Bloom are partnering to offer walking tours on Saturday\, April 2nd and Saturday\, April 9th at 10:30 a.m.\, 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.  The tours will be led by a historic guide and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history.  A knowledgeable guide from Lewes in Bloom will be on the tour to point out the multiple tulip varieties found around Lewes.  The tours begin at the Cannonball House’s back garden\, behind 118 Front Street. The tour cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Purchase tickets at www.historiclewes.org/visit/tours/html. \nFloral demonstrations and tulip sales: Ken Norman\, owner/designer at Floral Inspirations\, located on the beach side of the canal at 524 E. Savannah Road\, in the shops under the Beacon Motel\, will be hosting demonstrations on Friday and Saturday\, April 8th &  9th and 15th & 16th from 1 – 3 p.m.  Owner/designer Mayumi Williamson of Flowers by Mayumi\, located in the historic business district at 128 Second Street\, will be hosting a drop-in floral arranging demonstration on April 8 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.\nSpring Geranium Sale: Benefits the GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club’s Community Service Programs. They are taking orders until April 15 with pick up on Saturday\, April 30 at Lewes in Bloom’s Warehouse at 217 Schley Avenue\, Lewes. $7 per 6” pot – pink\, white\, red and salmon. Email orders to mRocksRN@comcast.net or checks payable to Z Club\, mailed to P.O. Box 100\, Lewes\, DE 19958 \nTulip arrangements and Art Exhibitions: There are additional activities associated with the Tulip Celebration including tulip arrangements by the Sussex Gardeners on display in the Zwaanendael Museum\, and art exhibitions at the Cape Artists of Lewes Gallery\, located at 110 W. Third Street\, including their Open House on April 2 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.  and the “Sur La Table” opening at the Peninsula Gallery at 520 E. Savannah Road. \nCopy and pics from the Lewes Chamber of Commerce Website

SUMMARY:Spring Home Expo & Craft Show
DESCRIPTION:All Delaware Resorts Expos are FREE TO THE PUBLIC!\nThe beautiful rotunda entrance and large hall with 30 ft ceiling and acres of free parking accommodate more than 80 Expo exhibitors and sponsors at Cape Henlopen High in Lewes\, DE on Kings Highway for Expo events in Lewes. \nCall Kathy for details: 302 236 0857 \nCheck out our last advertisement (2021 version still coming): \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDelaware Resorts Expos – then and now\n\nFor more than twenty years the Delaware Resorts HOME EXPO has existed to connect local businesses and organizations with existing and prospective regional residents in an exhibit or “Expo” environment.  For the first seventeen years it was held in the spring at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center in Rehoboth Beach\, Delaware.  In 2016\, due to an extensive renovation of the Rehoboth Beach city offices\, the adjoining Convention Center was closed to accommodate the building renovation and new construction. \nMOVE TO CAPE HENLOPEN HIGH SCHOOL\, LEWES. \nThe successful move to Cape High in Lewes for the 2016 HOME EXPO encouraged the founding of the Delaware Resorts 55+ EXPO in the fall of 2016 which again experienced resounding success in 2017 and 2018\, thereby establishing it as an annual event.  The 4th Annual 2019 Delaware Resorts 55+ Expo was held in November\, and the 5th Annual 2020 Delaware Resorts 55+ Expo will be held on November 7\, 2020.  The 3rd annual 2020 FALL HOME EXPO will take place on October 10th and 11th.  In the winter of 2019 the inaugural HEALTH-FITNESS & LEISURE EXPO was founded and was held with great success!  The 2nd annual HEALTH-FITNESS & LEISURE EXPO took place on March 7-8\, 2020. \nGREAT EXHIBITORS\, SPONSORS\, AND THOUSANDS OF EXPO VISITORS MAKE IT HAPPEN \nWhile it takes significant effort and investment to create\, promote\, and coordinate all of the Delaware Resorts Expos\, the many loyal SPONSORS\, EXHIBITORS\, AND EXPO VISITORS are the real “stars” and the reason for the success of every EXPO.  Some have been involved for decades\, and many have been EXPO participants for more than ten years.
