Lewis’ classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan\, the great lion\, his struggle with the White Witch\, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting\, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia. The intense action features chases\, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. All the memorable episodes from the story are represented in this exciting dramatization: the temptation of Edmund by the witch\, the slaying of the evil wolf by Peter\, the witnessing of Aslan’s resurrection by Susan and Lucy\, the crowing of the four new rulers of Narnia\, and more. The supporting characters are also here: the unicorn\, the centaur and other forest animals\, along with Father Christmas\, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver and Tumnus the Faun. This story of love\, faith\, courage and giving\, with its triumph of good over evil\, is a true celebration of life. \nThis play is a great way to spark conversations about family\, and especially the bond siblings have with one another. Throughout the show\, the Pevensies have to work through conflicts and ultimately learn to stick up for each other and love each other no matter what. This show is also a great way to bring up conversations about forgiveness. Edmund’s family forgives him even after he brings danger to them through his lies and betrayal. They also realize that they contributed to Edmund’s actions by treating him unkindly. Ultimately\, Edmund is rescued and redeemed by Aslan\, who takes Edmund’s punishment for him. Just like Edmund\, we all sometimes make mistakes and may experience consequences for them – but we are all still valuable and worthy of love. \nWe love this story because it focuses on how love is the deepest magic of all. Not only is it powerful enough to melt through ice and stone\, but it is able to defeat evil itself. We also love this story because it takes us on an adventure and uses all parts of our imagination to depict the children’s journey. By performing this story using minimal actors and sets\, we show that you don’t always need big special effects to tell a story. Storytellers can share human experiences through things as simple as a fur coat\, a hat rack\, or an umbrella. The broad-based committee\, chaired by event founder Lewes Mayor Ted Becker\, includes Lewes in Bloom co-chairs and founder\, a representative from City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission and the Zwaanendael Museum. This year Lewes in Bloom funded the purchase of 26\,931 tulip and 3\,950 spring bulbs that were planted in fall 2021 by members of Lewes in Bloom.\nThe timing of the tulips’ appearance is an inexact science and either milder or colder weather in advance of the event dates can increase the probability that the dates of the celebration may not exactly coincide with the tulips blooming! The event dates (April 1-17) span three weekends. \nThe locations of the plantings will be identified on the map produced in association with the celebration. More than 100 varieties will be on display. \nTiptoe To The Tulips Map: The event organizers created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map that will be available in late March at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center located in the historic Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Copies of the map will be available at brochure boxes throughout the historic commercial district. The map lists more than 20 locations where the bulbs were planted. It also has a schedule of activities associated with the Tulip Celebration. \nTulip Sale: On April 15 & 16 Lewes in Bloom will be selling tulips at the Bank Street Plaza on Second Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. \nHistory in Bloom Walking Tours: The Lewes Historical Society and Lewes in Bloom are partnering to offer walking tours on Saturday\, April 2nd and Saturday\, April 9th at 10:30 a.m.\, 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.  The tours will be led by a historic guide and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history.  A knowledgeable guide from Lewes in Bloom will be on the tour to point out the multiple tulip varieties found around Lewes.  The tours begin at the Cannonball House’s back garden\, behind 118 Front Street. The tour cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. She then went on to Mercy Hospital School fo Nursing and became a RN at a large university hospital for over 15 years\, holding positions as an ICU nurse\, critical care transport nurse\, certified flight nurse\, case manager\, and currently as an emergency room nurse at their trauma and burn center. \nDuring the same time she began nursing school\, Ms. Simpson joined the Prince Georges County Fire Department around the time she began nursing school and became a Nationally Pro-Boarded Fire Fighter 1&2\, Fire Officer 1&2\, Instructor 1&2\, and she holds several Rescue Specialty Certifications. She is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and held the position of Volunteer Paramedic Coordinator for Prince Georges County Fire Department for over 12 years. Ms. Simpson still actively volunteers as a Fire Fighter Paramedic in Prince Georges County. \nWith wanderlust in her blood and a great passion for travel and adventure\, Ms. Simpson and her dogs began traveling around the east coast to various National Parks in the spring of 2019. Through the National Park system\, Ms. Simpson discovered the US Lighthouse and the hobby grew. Researching local attractions led to the discovery of the lightship Barnegat and through what can only be described as the perfect chain of events\, met several other people interested in preserving the Barnegat and a group was formed. \nBIO on Robert Frymoyer:\nFrymore enlisted in the U.S. Coast guard immediately after graduating high school. He served 4 years in the Coast Guard reaching the position of Petty Officer Second Class. After his active duty time\, he transferred to the Coast Guard reserves and entered a career as a Firefighter for Camden City\, NJ. He worked there for 27 years and retired as Deputy Fire Marshal\, Fire Official and sub-Code Official.
