SUMMARY:March's 31 Days of Raffles supporting the Lewes Library
DESCRIPTION:“Every day in March the library will draw a raffle ticket to win $100 in gift certificates purchased from local businesses. \nWith 31 days in March\, you have 31 chances to win! \nEvery day is a NEW drawing\, so if you do not win one day\, your ticket will remain in the pot and could be drawn the next day. All net proceeds benefit the Library. Tickets may be purchased at the library and select area businesses.” \nThis a super fun raffle BUT the only reason we are able to give away gift certificates to LOCAL BUSINESSES is because those businesses donated the gift certificates to us. RIGHT NOW things are a little uncertain for many of the brick and mortar stores and restaurants that serve our community\, and make it a wonderful place to live. \nPLEASE show these folks some love right now – pick up food to go or order delivery\, buy gift cards online\, shop their website\, and tell your friends\, family\, and neighbors to do the same (but only talk to them from a safe distance!). Below are all the businesses that supported 31 Chances. Even if a local business isn’t on the list\, show them love too. We’re all in this together.” \n*** BREAKING NEWS *** \nThe Library is pleased to announce there will be a special prize drawing on the final day of drawings (March 31).\nThe first name drawn on that day will win a $250 gift card for use at any of the following Highway One Companies: Rusty Rudder\, Northbeach\, Bottle & Cork\, Outlet Liquors\, Ivy\, and Dewey Beach Liquors. \nThe second\, and final\, name drawn will win the GRAND PRIZE of a Dogfish Head Craft Brewery gift box full of Dogfish merchandise and a gift certificate for a two-night stay at Lewes’ Dogfish Inn. This package is worth over $500. \nRAFFLE TICKETS ARE ON SALE!\nStop by the Circulation Desk. Raffle tickets are offered at the following levels: \n\nFEELING LUCKY: 1 ticket for $20\nTRIPLE PLAY: 3 tickets for $50\nLUCKY 7: 7 tickets for $100\n\nLewes Public Library | (302) 645-2733

SUMMARY:Cabaret at Milton Theater
DESCRIPTION:The Milton Theatre makes a grand return of its in-house productions this 2022 with the iconic stage musical CABARET!\nDaring\, provocative and exuberantly entertaining! Cabaret explores the dark and heady life of Bohemian Berlin as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich.\n“A stunning musical… this marionette’s-eye view of a time and place in our lives that was brassy\, wanton\, carefree and doomed to crumble is brilliantly conceived.”– Walter Kerr\, The New York Times\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Cabaret (1998)\nWebsite \nBook by Joe Masteroff \nBased on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood \nMusic by John Kander \nLyrics by Fred Ebb \nIn a Berlin nightclub\, as the 1920’s draw to a close\, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary\, Cabaret explores the dark\, heady\, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff\, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin\, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile\, Fräulein Schneider\, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house\, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz\, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Musical numbers include “Willkommen\,” “Cabaret\,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and “Two Ladies.” \nCabaret opened on Broadway on November 20\, 1966\, and played for 1\,165 performances at the Broadhurst\, Imperial\, and Broadway Theatres. The London production ran for 336 performances at the Palace Theatre. The show was revised for Broadway\, first in 1987\, when it played for 261 performances at the Imperial and Minskoff Theatres\, and again in 1998 at Studio 54\, where it played for 2\,377 performances. In 2014\, Cabaret returned to Broadway at Studio 54\, playing an additional 388 performances. \n\nAbout the Milton Theatre\nOfficial Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram \nThe historic Milton Theatre is a uniquely diverse venue where you will find the best local\, regional\, national\, and international talent.
