DESCRIPTION:EXHIBIT at Oceanview DE \nFREE TO THE PUBLIC \nOpen Weekends\, Sept. 10 – Nov. 12th \nFridays\, 6-8pm \nSaturdays\, 10am-4pm \nSundays 1-4pm \n(Parking available at 32 West Ave. or on Oakwood Ave. No entrance off Central Ave.) \n“In 1900\, about 40% of Americans lived in rural areas\, By 2010\, less than 18% of the U.S. population lived in rural areas. In just over a century\, massive economic and social changes moved millions of Americans into urban areas. Yet\, only 10% of the U.S. landmass is considered urban. \nMany Americans consider rural communities to be endangered and hanging on by a thread—suffering from brain drain\, inadequate schools\, and a barren\, overused landscape. Why should revitalizing the rural places left behind matter to those who remain\, those who left\, and those who will come in the future? Because there is much more to the story of rural America. \nCrossroads: Change in Rural America offers small towns a chance to look at their own paths to highlight the changes that affected their fortunes over the past century. The exhibition will prompt discussions about what happened when America’s rural population became a minority of the country’s population and the ripple effects that occurred. \nDespite the massive economic and demographic impacts brought on by these changes\, America’s small towns continue to creatively focus on new opportunities for growth and development. Economic innovation and a focus on the cultural facets that make small towns unique\, comfortable\, and desirable have helped many communities create their own renaissance. SUMMARY:Rehoboth Art League's 38th Annual Holiday Fair and Fine Craft Show
DESCRIPTION:November 5 & November 6\, 2022 \nThe 38th Annual Holiday Fair Fine Craft Show\, to be held November 5 & 6\, 2022\, will feature a variety of artisans exhibiting and selling their work\, including jewelry\, glasswork\, ceramics\, mixed media\, and decorative and wearable fiber creations. Patrons can stroll the campus and find artists throughout the historic Homestead\, Chambers Studio\, and the Corkran and Tubbs galleries to select the perfect gifts for family\, friends and themselves. \nARTISTS\nBrowse a complete list of participating artists for this event. \nSAFETY\nThe Rehoboth Art League follows local and CDC COVID guidelines for operating. Please be aware that masks are required for entry into all buildings and that numbers of patrons will be monitored to ensure social distancing indoors. One-way entry and exits to each building will be marked and sanitizer will be available around campus. \nREFRESHMENTS\nThe Point Coffee House and Bake Shoppe will have packaged\, takeaway breakfast and lunch options\, available in the Children’s Studio. Dogfish Head will be offering craft beer in our ‘Paynter’s Pub.’ \nTICKETS\nThere is a weekend entry fee of $5 per adult\, which supports our year-round exhibition and education programs.
