Then in January\, some classes will be facilitated at the library via zoom as the facilitator\, Paul McFarlane will be traveling. Reach Paul as needed through email: falconfan62@verizon.net. Sign up for this FreeWrite session on the library website \n\nTHANKS PAUL MACFARLANE AND LYNN  MASSEY FOR SHARING THE OPPORTUNITY!!!\nFYI: Readers can reach out to share activities and events by emailing us Connect@DelawareRetiree.com\nSeveral times weekly RBWG members facilitate a FreeWrite open to all. Take a look at the options that suit you.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPer the RBWG website\, here are some details to explain more and give dates/times.\n“FreeWrite is the name given to an informal gathering of writers of ALL skill levels who meet to practice their writing in a friendly and nurturing atmosphere. The goal of the FreeWrites is to provide a place and an opportunity for people to have fun with their writing\, to explore different genres\, and to do this in the company of other writing enthusiasts. Each FreeWrite is facilitated by a Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild member who has experience in teaching\, writing and/or leading such groups. Participants write prose\, songs\, poetry and fiction\, work on novels during free writes\, and start short stories. Writing prompts are often (but not always) designed to focus on a particular aspect of writing: the use of sensory details\, the necessity of strong verbs\, the craft of writing dialogue.”\n\n\nI take myself by surprise. Writing at a FreeWrite! is like throwing a surprise party for yourself.  You never know what is going to spill out on your computer screen.  Is an evil twin lurking in the machinery? Or is it my fingers that somehow acquire access to long forgotten memories\, buried dreams and nightmares? No matter how many times I ask myself\, Where did that come from\,  No matter how many times I think I should have run out of surprises by now–something unexpected jumps out from where it’s been lurking behind a load of unpacked boxes in the basement of my mind.  I didn’t know I knew that\, I think.”\n—Sarah Barnett \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMORE LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES TO WRITE\nTraditional FreeWrites \n(visit the website for updates: FreeWrites)–and please note holiday dates when classes will not be held\nMondays \n8-10 a.m.\nRehoboth Beach Library (please use the back door).Carl Frey\, Joanne Sinsheimer\, and Tom Hoyer will alternate leading. SUMMARY:Clear Space\, MISERY
DESCRIPTION:Opening this season in the throes of winter we bring you MISERY\, based on Stephen King’s classic novel. MISERY follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon\, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan\,” Annie Wilkes\, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. While Paul is convalescing\, Annie reads his latest book and becomes enraged when she discovers the author has killed off her favorite character\, Misery Chastain. Annie forces Paul to write a new Misery novel\, and he quickly realizes Annie has no intention of letting him go anywhere. SUMMARY:The Ultimate Doors a tribute to Jim Morrison & the Doors @ Milton Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Ultimate Doors was formed with the intention of preserving The Doors’ music and performances as well as bringing an authentic experience to the old and the new generations of Doors fans. With great attention to detail\, The Ultimate Doors provide their audiences with an authentic looking and sounding tribute to Jim Morrison & The Doors. From Jim Morrison’s leather outfits all the way down to the color of the microphone cable\, The Ultimate Doors leaves no stone unturned in bringing an authentic Doors tribute show to the stage. Front and center\, taking on the role of Jim Morrison is Nash Stover. Nash doesn’t take his job of being Jim lightly. He studies Jim daily. From Jim’s vocals and stage persona\, to every detail of Jim’s ever-changing fashion sense. Jim Morrison was a complex man and Nash deeply respects every part of Jim’s legacy which shows true night after night on stage. On the Gibson SG and playing the role of Robby Krieger is Todd Huffman. Todd has been a Doors fan his entire life and has always considered Robby Krieger to be the most underrated guitar player of all time. Todd puts in countless hours not only practicing Robby’s guitar licks\, but also keeping every detail of Robby’s rig fine tuned. Robby Krieger is a hard role to play\, but Todd nails it. It takes a man with two brains to pull off playing the part of Ray Manzarek. Manning the Gibson G-101 organ while keeping the low end going on the Fender Rhodes piano bass is Nate Shaw. Maintaining the thumping bass with his left hand and the snarling organ with his right\, Nate really appreciates every ounce of talent that Ray Manzarek had. On the Mod Orange Ludwig Downbeat kit\, taking on the role of John Densmore is Jordyn Huffman. Jordyn learned to play drums to Doors albums when he was a teenager and has considered John Densmore to be the best drummer of all time ever since. John’s style on and off the drums was unlike that of any other and Jordyn loves that challenge. \nAll copy and pics from the website.
