DESCRIPTION:Through an agreement between South Coastal Library and the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild (RBWG)\, the RBWG will host a weekly FreeWrites on Thursdays at South Coastal Library. \nA FreeWrite is an informal gathering of writers of ALL skill levels who practice creative writing in a friendly and nurturing atmosphere. It’s an opportunity to have fun with writing and explore different genres with other writing enthusiasts. Each FreeWrite is facilitated by a RBWG member with experience in teaching\, writing and/or leading such groups. Participants write brief prose\, songs\, poetry\, and fiction. Some participants use the time to brainstorm ideas for their own novel or to begin or continue short story writing. Writing prompts are designed to focus on particular writing aspect e.g.\, the use of sensory details\, using strong verbs\, writing dialogue\, etc. FreeWrites are open to anyone in the local community (age 18+). DESCRIPTION:Come support our homegrown talented kids for their Winter ’23 talent showcase! \nMusical Theatre Ensemble presents: “We’ve Got Magic To Do!” Join us for a magical MTE session filled with your favorite magic-themed songs from the radio and Broadway! Featuring songs from Pippin\, Aladdin\, Cinderella\, and more! \n\n \nAbout Musical Theatre Ensemble\nOur Musical Theatre Ensemble (MTE) classes will focus on each of the three main concentrations of musical theater; voice\, dance\, and acting. Great emphasis will be placed on recognizing the relevance of each discipline as it relates to musical theater and preparing students for auditions and musical theatre performances. Each class period will be devoted to- 1) vocal development\, 2) improving acting skills\, 3) learning choreography; all to help students develop musical theatre skills. The culmination of this course will result with students gaining a broader understanding of musical theater from their participation in a fun and exciting musical theatre performance experience that will increase their abilities and help them to become well rounded performers. \nAbout Triple Threat Training Program\nA key term in musical theatre training is learning to be a ‘triple threat performer’\, which means the ability to act\, sing and dance to a high standard. The Triple Threat classes at the Milton Theatre bring these three disciplines together into a unified whole. The emphasis in these classes is to strengthen each of the elements equally to create a well-rounded Triple Threat performer.
