SUMMARY:Coastal Delaware Running Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Coastal Delaware Running Festival takes place in mid-April at Rehoboth Beach\, Delaware. It includes 5k\, 9k\, half marathon (13.1 mi/ 21km)\, and a full marathon (26.2 mi/ 42km). The full marathon is certified as Boston Marathon Qualifier. Delaware offers four fast and flat courses that feature beautiful local landmarks such as Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk\, historic Lewes\, the Cape Henlopen State Park\, and a few more state parks. The Coastal Delaware Running Festival features about 3000 runners. \nUpon finish at Rehoboth Beach Broadwalk runners can take part in​ the celebration with complimentary food\, music and beer. The proceeds from the festival contribute to the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation and Delaware State Parks. DESCRIPTION:“Join a guided birding tour with a veteran birder at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. The tours are usually led by either Harry Armistead or Terry Allen. The tours meet at 9am at the Blackwater Visitor Center\, 2145 Key Wallace Drive\, Cambridge\, MD\, 21613. Tours may last 3-4 hours. Bring your binoculars and field guides\, and dress appropriately for the weather. The birding party will caravan via car to birding hotspots around the Wildlife Drive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Blackwater Visitor Center is open Tuesday-Sunday\, 10am-4pm; closed Mondays and federal holidays. SUMMARY:Live Music at the Georgetown Library (FREE)
DESCRIPTION:The Georgetown Public Library hosts “Live Music at the Library” at 2 pm the third Sunday of most months of the year; the concerts are free and open to the public\, and no longer require registration. Seating is limited to 200 attendees. \nJulie Slim & RendezVous\n \nJulie Slim is a Lebanese-American multilingual jazz/world vocalist based in Austin\, TX.  She founded her band\, Julie Slim & RendezVous\, in 2013\, bringing forth the cultural influences that shaped her life. A child of the world\, Julie aims to create cultural bridges and heart connections through her warm vocals which are known to soothe\, uplift and transport their listeners. With RendezVous\, Julie won an Honorary Merit Award in the 2017 USA Songwriting Competition for her original song\, Sarabande de Solitude (Shawn Ellison/Julie Slim). As a result\, Julie Slim & RendezVous was featured in the 2017 Songwriters Showcase at SXSW Music Festival. \nJulie has worked as a vocalist with the Austin Jazz Workshop since 2001\, performing in several of their seasons.
