DESCRIPTION:From registering online for programs to figuring out our own PC\, our local libraries can help with SO many of the problems we face.\n\nGeorgetown Public Library: Thursdays\, 10:30am – 11:30am\, and 5pm-6pm\, COMPUTER BASICS: Come learn the basics of how to use a computer\, or come prepared with advance questions of your own. This will be a mixture of prepared training as well as a chance to ask questions and get drop in computer help from a certified Computer Instructor. This project was funded by a grant from AARP. Registration is required. Register by calling 302-856-7958 OR register online (click this link to go to the library calendar\, click on the class on Thursdays\, 5pm to see the page where you register)\nLaurel Public Library\, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-7pm\, Jack’s Tech Talk: Technology assistance for patrons. DESCRIPTION:“Thanks to a partnership between South Coastal Library\, Kent County Library\, and Wellington City Libraries\, you can now have the opportunity to connect with a New Zealander! \n\nThis is a fun way to learn about another country and make a new friend. We handle all the international postage – you bring in and pick up your letters at the library. \n\nHow to sign up: \n\nFill out a registration form. Registration forms are available at the library and online. Click here to register online. Parental permission and signature is needed for anyone to participate under the age of 18. Please register all persons under 18 in person at the library.\nWait! After you are registered\, library staff will work to match you with your New Zealand pen pal! Please be patient.\nGet matched! You will be notified with the full name of your pen pal and some basic information. Please use their full name when addressing envelopes!\n\nHow the program works: \n\nWrite your letter and drop it off at your library. Be sure to address it clearly!\nWhen your letter arrives from New Zealand\, you’ll be notified! Just stop in to the library to pick it up!\nRespond to your pen pal and write another letter! DESCRIPTION:Help Us Today \n\n\n\nThe Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition has a variety of ways to engage volunteers.  How you volunteer with DBCC may depend on the amount of time you have available\, your availability in the daytime or evenings\, and the special skills and talents you may have to lend to DBCC. We will try to match your interests with our volunteer needs\, which vary throughout the year. \nSeptember\, and specifically October\, tend to be busy times when we have more volunteer opportunities. The rest of the year is filled with various outreach opportunities\, special events\, educational needs\, and more.  We value our volunteers and want to make sure each and every opportunity is worth their time and dedication.  Our volunteers help us to extend the “reach” of DBCC. The following tours are available this year: \n\n\n5/27 – Late Spring Meadow Tour – Enjoy the delights of a late Spring wild-flower meadow with DBG’s Director of Horticulture\, learn how to balance a native garden with essential pollinator plants for Spring wildlife. \n\n\n6/24 – Early Summer Meadow Tour – Spring into Summer with a leisurely stroll through DBG’s designer meadow\, focusing on the benefits of growing native plants and the pollinators they attract. \n\n\n7/22 – Summer Meadow Blooms and Pollinators Tour – Enjoy the scent of a summer meadow\, and enjoy the sights\, sounds\, and smells of DBG’s 2-acre meadow with a sensory tour of Piet Oudolf’s Meadow. \n\n\n8/19 – Late Summer Meadow Tour – Meander through Delaware Botanic Gardens Meadow with an international plantsman and Director of Horticulture\, observe plants as they share seeds\, and learn how to collect and preserve seeds from your own garden plants. \n\n\n10/7\, 10/21 – Fall Gardening for Wildlife Meadow Tour – Join Stephen Pryce Lea for a return of this often sold-out tour of Piet Oudolf Meadow discussing garden maintenance and featured plants essential for providing wildlife with a food source\, and habitat for the 5th season. \n\n\nReserve your ticket for entry into the gardens on the day of the program here. Guest fee for admission is $15\, members are admitted free. \nThe cost to attend this tour is free for Members\, Non-Members pay admission plus $10 and each tour starts at 2:00 pm.
