This year’s event will be from 4-8 p.m. \nJazz performers includes: \nJoe Baione (4:15 p.m.)  \nJoe Baione has a passion for all things jazz and continues to make a mark on the jazz scene with his powerful and energetic performances on the vibes.\n\nThe relative rarity of vibraphonists in the history of jazz remains one of the musical genre’s true mysteries. Despite the natural beauty of the instrument’s sound and the historical importance and celebrated popularity of its most famous players – Lionel Hampton\, Milt Jackson and Bobby Hutcherson – comparatively few artists have chosen to make the vibraphone their primary means of expression. Fortunately\, Joe Baione shows that the vibes and the mallets with which he plays them are in very good hands.\n\nA native of the state of Delaware\, Baione grew up in a jazz drenched musical environment. His father\, the clarinetist-saxophonist-educator Jim Baione\, is a graduate of Philadelphia’s prestigious Combs Conservatory of Music\, where he earned both his B.A. and M.A. in Music Education Degrees and first met Joe’s musician mother\, Barbara. The other musical members of the Baione family include Joe’s two older brothers\, bassist Tom and guitarist Jimmy. Following in his father’s footsteps\, Joe studied both music education and jazz performance\, graduating from the University of Maryland E.S. in 1995.\n\nIn 2003\, Joe had the good fortune to meet saxophonist/composer Benny Golson\, when the jazz legend participated in a series of clinics and benefit concerts in Delaware. The two forged a lasting friendship and Golson became an important mentor to the vibraphonist\, encouraging him to pursue his dual dream as a jazz musician. Golson’s appraisal of Baione as “a young man with vision who is able to realize the future today” is one that has inspired the young veteran vibraphonist to reach for.\n\nJoe Baione has performed at some of the most prestigious festivals and venues in the world\, too many to name\, but some include Trinidad Jazz and Steelpan Festival\, Rochester Int. Jazz Festival\, Clearwater Jazz Holiday\, Jacksonville Jazz Festival\, Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival\, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola\, The Iridium NYC\, The Kimmel Center\, The Freeman State and the Rehoboth Autumn Jazz Festival\, just to name a few.\n\n\n\nEnergico (5:30 p.m.) \nHailing from the Washington\, DC\, Metro areas\, Energico (eh-Nur-jee-koh) is a Jazz-Fusion band with influences and approaches ranging from Charlie Parker\, Thelonious Monk\, Dizzy Gillespie\, to Chick Corea\, Kirk Whalum\, Yellowjackets\, Jeff Lorber to Al Jarreau\, Jon Hendricks\, Nat King Cole\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Sarah Vaughan\, Billy Holiday and Etta James. Energico is a musical term meaning to “perform with vigor.” \nInitially joining forces in early 2016 for what was intended as a one-time performance for a fundraising event\, Energico’s delightful live show garnered them numerous demands to return and play. Since then\, they have grown and have opened for and shared stages with Cindy Bradley\, Chelsey Green\, Merlon Devine and comedians Curt Gaskins\, Sean Sarvis and Gee Gee Wong to name a few. Energico plays a dynamic blend of Straight-Ahead/Traditional Jazz\, Fusion\, Smooth Jazz and Latin/World Jazz all while infusing a well-traveled\, international feel. Energico consists of lead vocalist and Texas native\, Cash Jane; pianist from Ohio\, Ollie Wright; and fellow Philadelphians\, bassist Percy White and Drummer Michael Herndon. Energico performs in and around the DC Metro area\, Pennsylvania\, Delaware and beyond. \n\n\nJazzy Blu (6:45 p.m.) \nJazzy Blu is one of the leading jazz and R&B bands in the Washington metropolitan area. The band produces the melodic sounds of smooth jazz\, neo-soul\, and R&B\, while blending the influences of funk\, jazz\, R&B\, neo-soul\, blues\, rock\, and alternative music. They create a groove-filled emotional roller coaster that takes you through an array of themes\, moods\, and experiences. \nJazzy Blu has entertained audiences everywhere from small lounges to large theaters. DESCRIPTION:Get up close & personal and learn about many of the different organisms that can be found in the Inland Bays! \n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nParticipants in this program get closer to the bays than ever before as they search in the shallow waters of the Indian River Bay for aquatic life. As a group\, we identify and discuss different fish\, crabs\, and other organisms that we can find here at the James Farm Ecological Preserve! \nPeople will be in and around the water during this event. Please wear clothes & shoes that can get wet/sandy. Closed-toe shoes are encouraged. Please also bring water\, sunscreen and insect repellant\, if desired since the Preserve can be buggy. \nPlease note: Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian present at all times. DESCRIPTION:BEACH CRAWL – THUR – SUN.  THE TOWN OF OCEAN CITY AND IT’S PUBLIC WORKS STAFF \nHas requested that we do our best to exit the inlet lot before 10 am so the Jeep participants do not get charged extra parking fees. We need to stage the Beach Crawl each day 6:30 am – 7:15 am at Jolly Roger 29th street bayside back parking lot. You have to air down tires to 15 psi\, bring your portable air compressor to air up in the inlet parking lot. We have 300 Jeeps per day Thursday thru Sunday heading down the beautiful Ocean City beach. It’s a true sandy carpet ride. If you wish to spectate you can see the Jeep parade from 29th street to the inlet.
