SUMMARY:RBWG "Free Writes"\, non-members invited!

Then in January\, some classes will be facilitated at the library via zoom as the facilitator\, Paul McFarlane will be traveling. Reach Paul as needed through email: falconfan62@verizon.net. Sign up for this FreeWrite session on the library website \n\nTHANKS PAUL MACFARLANE AND LYNN  MASSEY FOR SHARING THE OPPORTUNITY!!!\nFYI: Readers can reach out to share activities and events by emailing us Connect@DelawareRetiree.com\nSeveral times weekly RBWG members facilitate a FreeWrite open to all. Take a look at the options that suit you.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPer the RBWG website\, here are some details to explain more and give dates/times.\n“FreeWrite is the name given to an informal gathering of writers of ALL skill levels who meet to practice their writing in a friendly and nurturing atmosphere. The goal of the FreeWrites is to provide a place and an opportunity for people to have fun with their writing\, to explore different genres\, and to do this in the company of other writing enthusiasts. Each FreeWrite is facilitated by a Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild member who has experience in teaching\, writing and/or leading such groups. Participants write prose\, songs\, poetry and fiction\, work on novels during free writes\, and start short stories. Writing prompts are often (but not always) designed to focus on a particular aspect of writing: the use of sensory details\, the necessity of strong verbs\, the craft of writing dialogue.”\n\n\nI take myself by surprise. Writing at a FreeWrite! is like throwing a surprise party for yourself.  You never know what is going to spill out on your computer screen.  Is an evil twin lurking in the machinery? Or is it my fingers that somehow acquire access to long forgotten memories\, buried dreams and nightmares? No matter how many times I ask myself\, Where did that come from\,  No matter how many times I think I should have run out of surprises by now–something unexpected jumps out from where it’s been lurking behind a load of unpacked boxes in the basement of my mind.  I didn’t know I knew that\, I think.”\n—Sarah Barnett \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMORE LOCAL OPPORTUNITIES TO WRITE\nTraditional FreeWrites \n(visit the website for updates: FreeWrites)–and please note holiday dates when classes will not be held\nMondays \n8-10 a.m.\nRehoboth Beach Library (please use the back door).Carl Frey\, Joanne Sinsheimer\, and Tom Hoyer will alternate leading. Masks are optional\, though the library recommends them. Email FreeWrites will still be sent out at 9 a.m.\, so you have a choice.\n\nWednesdays\n6 p.m.\nLewes Public Library\nComputer Training Room\nTom Hoyer facilitates weekly in-person FreeWrites. He will continue to send out FW materials by email\, though earlier (around 5 p.m.). Sign up for this FreeWrite session on the Library website.ThursdaysOn summer hiatus after the May 26 meeting until Sep 1. Email p.mcfarlane.1957@gmail.com with any questions.\n\n\nPoetry FreeWrite \nMondays  \n3-4:30p\nLewes Public Library\nMedium Meeting Room (check signage at the library as sometimes the room is changed) \nGail Comorat is back to lead Poetry FreeWrites. Sign up for this FreeWrite session on the Library website. \nEmail FreeWrites\nMondays 9a Carl Frey and Joanne Sinsheimer\nWednesdays 6p Tom Hoyer\nSaturdays 9a Sarah Barnett \nThe leader sends the prompts a few minutes before the start. Participants are asked to write for 5 minutes each for as many of the prompts as they wish to respond to (there are usually about 10 choices). The leader asks participants to send responses back to the group about 75 – 90 minutes after beginning.\nIf you would like to join any of the above email groups\, notify Sarah Barnett. sbarnett99@comcast.net \n\n\nALL INFO from the RBWG website

Then in January\, some classes will be facilitated at the library via zoom as the facilitator\, Paul McFarlane will be traveling. Reach Paul as needed through email: falconfan62@verizon.net. SUMMARY:Dinner and a Concert with Nick Perri & Walt Lafty
DESCRIPTION:Join Nick Perri and Walt Lafty (former Silvertide bandmates) for a night of music and celebration this December. Walt will play a solo set\, Nick will play a solo set\, and the long-time friends will join forces for some familiar Silvertide jams. These will be special engagements- full electric\, full production- and not to be missed. Tickets on sale now! \nNick Perri isn’t writing your typical rags-to-riches breakout story (yet)\, and because it lacks the salacious drug overdoses and groupie exposés that have always enthralled rock’s faded journalism and today’s social media fervor\, it isn’t getting the cultural attention it really deserves. Nick has spent nearly twenty years fighting for the soul of rock and roll\, exhaustively trying to preserve a certain mindset and attitude\, which was long ago abandoned by an industry that prefers to reach for homogeny. Instead\, through his own personal ethos and the music he creates\, Nick is crafting a salvation story\, one in which rock and roll saves itself from its own mediocrity. \nOver the years\, the journey has been complicated and magical. It has been full of the kind of peaks and valleys that a person needs to travel on the path to becoming who and what they are meant to be. The spirit of independence infused this project and resulted in music that could only have come from Philadelphia. \nAuthenticity\, not guitar playing\, is Nick’s most astounding quality. He’s a man who’s seen the music business from the inside and the out\, he knows how it works. And now he’s making it work for him. Nick is a father in his mid-30s\, a husband\, a business man\, a devoted child\, a loving sibling\, an uncle\, an Italian\, an American\, a guitar legend\, and a grateful artist. If he signs his name with authority\, it’s because he earns it. \n-Ari Halbkram \nFor more visit: https://www.nickperrimusic.com \nIncludes your seat and a  4 course Wine Dinner \nDoes not include gratuity \nNon Refundable \nCopy and pics from the website
