DESCRIPTION:Through an agreement between South Coastal Library and the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild (RBWG)\, the RBWG will host a weekly FreeWrites on Thursdays at South Coastal Library. \nA FreeWrite is an informal gathering of writers of ALL skill levels who practice creative writing in a friendly and nurturing atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:Libraries offering AARP Tax-Aide at this time. \n\nLewes Library\, Thursdays and Fridays (8:30am-3pm\, appointments required)\nGeorgetown Library\, Wednesdays and Saturdays (9:30am-3:45 pm\, appointments required)\n\nDETAILS BELOW \nFor example: Lewes Library volunteers who will prepare federal and Delaware income tax returns for the 2022 filing year. Volunteers are certified by the IRS. Tax-Aide\, a joint venture between the IRS and AARP\, is a free service open to taxpayers of all ages with low to moderate income. AARP membership is not required. Volunteers may only prepare returns for which they are trained\, so some returns are deemed out-of-scope by the IRS and AARP. Lengthy\, complex returns which are time consuming to prepare will not be done. Taxpayers need to be sure they have received all their relevant tax documents prior to their appointment as no amended returns will be prepared. \nAt the LEWES LIBRARY: Tax preparation will take place on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM from Thursday\, February 2 until Friday\, April 14. SUMMARY:Lewes Tulip Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Lewes Tulip Celebration Celebrating our Dutch Heritage    \n \n  \nThe 14th  annual Lewes Tulip Celebration\, jointly sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom\, will be blossoming April 1 – 16\, 2023. The organizing committee is chaired by event founder and former Lewes Mayor Ted Becker\, and includes the Lewes in Bloom co-chairs and founder\, a representative from City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission\, the Lewes Historical Society and the Zwaanendael Museum. This year Lewes in Bloom funded the purchase of 32\,000 tulips and spring bulbs that were planted in fall 2022 by members of Lewes in Bloom. \nThe timing of the tulips’ appearance is an inexact science and either milder or colder weather in advance of the event dates can increase the probability that the dates of the celebration may not exactly coincide with the tulips blooming! The event dates (April 1-16) span three weekends.  The locations of the plantings are identified on the map produced in association with the celebration. More than 100 varieties will be on display. (Find a link to the Tulip Map at the end of the next paragraph). \nTiptoe To The Tulips Map: The event organizers created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map that will be available in late March at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center located in the historic Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Copies of the map will be available at brochure boxes throughout the historic commercial district. The map lists more than 20 locations where the bulbs were planted. It also has a schedule of activities associated with the Tulip Celebration.\nDOWNLOAD TULIP CELEBRATION MAP \nDOWNLOAD TULIP CELEBRATION ACTIVITIES \nTulip Sale: On April 7 & 8 Lewes in Bloom will be selling tulips at the Bank Street Plaza on Second Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or until they sell out).\nHistory in Bloom Walking Tours: The Lewes Historical Society and Lewes in Bloom are partnering to offer walking tours on April 1 & 2 at 10:30 a.m.\, 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.  The tours will be led by a historic guide and will provide information on Lewes’ rich maritime history.  A knowledgeable guide from Lewes in Bloom will be on the tour to point out the multiple tulip varieties found around Lewes.  The tours begin at the Cannonball House’s back garden\, behind 118 Front Street. The tour cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. DESCRIPTION:Lewes Tulip Celebration Celebrating our Dutch Heritage    \n \n  \nThe 14th  annual Lewes Tulip Celebration\, jointly sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom\, will be blossoming April 1 – 16\, 2023. The organizing committee is chaired by event founder and former Lewes Mayor Ted Becker\, and includes the Lewes in Bloom co-chairs and founder\, a representative from City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission\, the Lewes Historical Society and the Zwaanendael Museum. This year Lewes in Bloom funded the purchase of 32\,000 tulips and spring bulbs that were planted in fall 2022 by members of Lewes in Bloom. \nThe timing of the tulips’ appearance is an inexact science and either milder or colder weather in advance of the event dates can increase the probability that the dates of the celebration may not exactly coincide with the tulips blooming! The event dates (April 1-16) span three weekends.  The locations of the plantings are identified on the map produced in association with the celebration. More than 100 varieties will be on display. (Find a link to the Tulip Map at the end of the next paragraph). \nTiptoe To The Tulips Map: The event organizers created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map that will be available in late March at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center located in the historic Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Copies of the map will be available at brochure boxes throughout the historic commercial district. The map lists more than 20 locations where the bulbs were planted. Volunteers are certified by the IRS. Tax-Aide\, a joint venture between the IRS and AARP\, is a free service open to taxpayers of all ages with low to moderate income. AARP membership is not required. Volunteers may only prepare returns for which they are trained\, so some returns are deemed out-of-scope by the IRS and AARP. Lengthy\, complex returns which are time consuming to prepare will not be done. DESCRIPTION:Libraries offering AARP Tax-Aide at this time. \n\nLewes Library\, Thursdays and Fridays (8:30am-3pm\, appointments required)\nGeorgetown Library\, Wednesdays and Saturdays (9:30am-3:45 pm\, appointments required)\n\nDETAILS BELOW \nFor example: Lewes Library volunteers who will prepare federal and Delaware income tax returns for the 2022 filing year. Volunteers are certified by the IRS. Tax-Aide\, a joint venture between the IRS and AARP\, is a free service open to taxpayers of all ages with low to moderate income. AARP membership is not required. Volunteers may only prepare returns for which they are trained\, so some returns are deemed out-of-scope by the IRS and AARP. Lengthy\, complex returns which are time consuming to prepare will not be done. Taxpayers need to be sure they have received all their relevant tax documents prior to their appointment as no amended returns will be prepared. \nAt the LEWES LIBRARY: Tax preparation will take place on Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM from Thursday\, February 2 until Friday\, April 14. Look for the sign in the lobby\, directing you to the correct room. Appointments are required and can be made starting Wednesday\, January 18 by calling 302-703-7198. You must leave your name and the best phone number for a callback. In 1949\, Howard Schroeder started the Open Studio Sketch Group to give artists an opportunity to gather once a week to sketch or paint live models\, an idea inspired by a group he had belonged to as an artist in New York City\, his birthplace. The group remains active today and is open to interested artists by reservation. Artists are asked to bring their own supplies and to work independently.” \nOPEN PRINT STUDIO\n“The Open Print Studio is the art league’s digital venue for fine art photographers\, as well as artists interested in making reproductions of their work. Monitored by trained members of the Coastal Camera Club\, the art league’s Print Studio allows photographers access to color correct\, edit\, and print images on a variety of fine photographic papers. Adjust your images on your home computer\, or have a studio monitor assist you in the lab prior to printing here. Members’ accessing the Print Studio are responsible for a nominal studio fee ($2 per hour) as well as the cost of any paper and materials purchased. Open Print Studio is available to RAL members and/or Coastal Camera Club members by appointment.
