SUMMARY:Neil Diamond Tribute Featuring Sol Knopf Band @Milton theatre
DESCRIPTION:2020 promised to be the busiest year in local musician Sol Knopf’s career\, with 270 shows scheduled. In early March\, however\, like musicians all over the world\, Sol found himself suddenly unemployed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After 2 weeks of being in an emotional fog\, he realized this moment might possibly be a gift. So he decided to enjoy this break from performing and focus on creating. With the blessing of the Smyrna Opera House in Smyrna\, DE\, Sol moved his recording gear onto their beautiful stage and began to record an album…a tribute to the great Neil Diamond. \n“Solitary Man” is the culmination of many hours of Sol on that stage during the pandemic quarantine learning all of the guitar\, bass\, piano and percussion parts to his favorite Neil Diamond songs\, and then recording them one by one late into the night. Since it was such a solitary experience\, it only made sense to name the album “Solitary Man”. \nWe hope you will join us for this wonderful celebration of Neil Diamond’s music! \n\n\nSol Knopf is an award winning\, American singer/songwriter and solo performer best known for his distinctive baritone voice and timeless original songs. His moving single “My Baby Girl” (co-written with Geri Smith) has been touching lives all over the world since it’s release in 2013. It has become one of the most requested\, independently released\, father/daughter dance songs at weddings across the USA and abroad. The YouTube video for “My Baby Girl” is currently on it’s way toward one million views. Produced by Grammy nominated Jim Salamone\, “My Baby Girl” is included on Sol’s CD “Sea Change” (2013). \nWith over 7\,000 performances in his career\, Sol has toured the USA fronting show bands\, been lead guitarist with Atlantic Records recording artists Mike Hines and the Look\, has appeared on the Nashville Network and has been blessed to frequently share the stage with Grammy Award winning\, Hall of of Fame inducted and accomplished hit songwriters such as Tony Arata\, Doug James\, Don Henry\, Craig Bickhardt\, Michael Johnson\, Thom Schuyler and many more. \nCopy and pics from the website \n\n\n

SUMMARY:The Funsters Benefit Dance Party @ Milton Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Dance and Party All Night Long with The Funsters! Benefitting the Milton Theatre Scholarship Fund for Aspiring Musical Theatre Performers.\nThe Funsters Benefit Dance Party now includes reserved seating for your partying/dancing convenience!\nDance the night away in support of the Milton Theatre Scholarship Fund! Enjoy live music and a 50/50 raffle! \nIt would be hard to find a band that has more fun than The Funsters. That is why they are still entertaining thousands of people after 20+ years of playing together. In this ten-piece band there has not been one personnel change in twelve years. That tells the whole story of the secret of The Funsters’ success. Not only are these guys great musicians who share a pride in each other’s musical abilities\, but they are also friends. This spirit and camaraderie on stage is what sets The Funsters apart from other bands offering the same type of musical entertainment.\nWhat about the music? Well\, it can be anything from Frank Sinatra to The Rolling Stones\, The Beatles to Al Green. With a three-piece horn section\, four lead vocalists and a guitarist that has toured the world with Joe Cocker\, Scandal and Paul Young (to name a few)\, it is uncommon for any band to match the musical breadth of The Funsters. In fact\, with a song list so vast\, the members find themselves disappointed that they can’t “play them all” at every performance. With this kind of flexibility\, The Funsters can customize a night of music that will be perfect for any event.\nThe Funsters are indeed made up of lifelong friends. Besides a set of brothers\, some members have known each other since childhood and played together in “first bands” over 30 years ago. Other members met and played in bands during their college years and have continued playing together for the last 20-25 years. The common roots of this band can be traced back first to southern Delaware with such groups as “Mr. Softee\,” “Texas\,” and “Colour.” Later combinations led to the University of Delaware\, the Stone Balloon\, the Bottle-n-Cork\, and “Jack of Diamonds\,” “Eighth Day\,” and “Kickback.”\nThe Funsters are: Jon Fletcher – trumpet/vocals\, Tom Houska – keyboards\, Greg Mack – guitar\, Keith Mack – guitar\, Dickie Messick – bass\, Ed Shockley – drums/vocals\, Ken Tonge – sax/vocals\, Sherman Ward – vocals\, Grier White – sax/vocals\, Martin LeMaire – sound engineer. \nCopy and pics from the website \n

SUMMARY:Metallica Tribute The Four Horsemen @ Milton Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Dedication to excellence is what separates U.S. metal heroes THE FOUR HORSEMEN from the ocean of ‘tribute’ bands. The only album-quality Metallica tribute band on the planet\, they deliver the unforgettable\, note-for-note perfect experience that is guaranteed to surpass even the wildest dreams of Metallica aficionados. The speed\, the precision\, the signature riffs\, and the look – THE FOUR HORSEMEN are the real deal! \n They have the talent to deliver the sonic authenticity of the vintage thrash songs with high caliber execution – including the blistering vocals of the albums like no one else. No gimmicks on the stage. Just sheer energy\, chest-pounding\, crowd-pleasing power.  The very same intensity that drew millions to Metallica in the 80’s. Guitarist/vocalist Sean Perry explains; “Fans deserve the highest quality reproduction of Metallica’s records and shows. That’s why we’re here.” \n Guided by his vision and determination\, the band have become heroes to their ever-growing fan base in the U.S. and are now spreading their wings to take over the globe. \n “I saw Metallica on the Black Album tour in 1991 and that experience changed me forever. The sound\, the energy between band and audience – from that moment on I knew what I was put on earth to do. Music is my life!” says Sean.  Little did he know that his thrasher heroes would play an even bigger part in his artistic future when he was approached by a Metallica tribute band looking for a new\, charismatic front man in late 2006. \n Every live performance they have done has received widespread acclaim; the band have taken the art of paying tribute to a new level of potency. Focusing on Metallica’s first four\, classic albums – Kill ‘Em All\, Ride The Lightning\, Master of Puppets\, and …And Justice For All – with a smattering of anthems from the all-conquering Metallica/Black Album they deliver a show metal fans dream of. \n The Four Horsemen have now taken global management by Jeff Hair\, legendary sound engineer for MANOWAR. \n Be warned: They are primed and ready to bring their high-energy show to stages around the world! \n  \nCopy and pics from the website

SUMMARY:The Dave Matthews Tribute Band @ Milton
DESCRIPTION:The only nationally touring tribute to the Dave Matthews Band. \nTheir name says it all: The Dave Matthews Tribute Band. For nearly 20 years\, the band has been performing sold out shows around the world; playing over 1\,500 dates in 46 states and 8 countries. Many go to their live shows with reservations\, high expectations\, and the burning question\, “Do these guys sound like the real Dave Matthews Band?” Almost always the answer is\, “Yes!”\nSince 2004\, The DMTB is the only nationally touring tribute to the Dave Matthews Band. This 5-piece ensemble strives to pay homage to their famous counterparts by matching the excitement\, energy\, intensity and intimacy of a DMB live show.\nWhile most fans never witnessed the real band before they became the platinum-selling artists they are today\, The Dave Matthews Tribute Band prides itself on giving audiences this opportunity at intimate venues around the world.\nAs Rick Grant of Entertaining U in Jacksonville\, FL wrote\, “The Dave Matthews Tribute Band turned out to exceed its billing as a quality improvisational band that uses Dave Matthews material as themes to improvise. Clearly\, this distinguishes them from the other so-called tribute bands. The band is exceptionally tight and produces a solid groove over which the players improvise with hot chops.”\nBeyond mastering the DMB sound and the relentless touring\, what separates The Dave Matthews Tribute Band from other cover bands is their passion\, love\, and respect for DMB and their music. That is what makes you come out of one of their shows saying\, “Yeah\, they really do sound like the real Dave Matthews Band.”\n  \nCopy and pic from the website

SUMMARY:Black Opry
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to discover\, support and enjoy the Black artists that make magic in this space. One of the most valuable aspects of country music is its versatility and diversity in sound. Country\, blues\, folk\, and Americana music often overlap or weave together- these artists explore all of those sounds and intersections. Offered in two formats\, writers rounds and festival sets\, the Black Opry Revue showcases the diversity in sound and stories that Black artists offer to these genres. \nAbout Black Opry\n \nWebsite | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram\n\nBlack Opry is home for Black artists\, fans and industry professionals working in country\, Americana\, blues\, and folk music. Country and roots music have been made and loved by Black people since their conception. For just as long\, we have been overlooked and disregarded in the genre. Black Opry is changing that.\n \n\n“Black Opry is so powerful because it reflects not only this generation of artists\, musicians\, and songwriters\, but also writers\, critics\, journalists\, and fans who are interested in not just amplifying the work of Black country artists and other marginalized communities\,” says Dr. Charles L. Hughes\, historian and author of Country Soul\, “but also in creating networks and building a sense of community to avoid dealing with racist institutions.” Excerpt from rolling stone \n\n All copy and pics from the website: https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/5969198/black-opry-milton-milton-theatre

SUMMARY:The Ultimate Doors a tribute to Jim Morrison & the Doors @ Milton Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The Ultimate Doors was formed with the intention of preserving The Doors’ music and performances as well as bringing an authentic experience to the old and the new generations of Doors fans. With great attention to detail\, The Ultimate Doors provide their audiences with an authentic looking and sounding tribute to Jim Morrison & The Doors. From Jim Morrison’s leather outfits all the way down to the color of the microphone cable\, The Ultimate Doors leaves no stone unturned in bringing an authentic Doors tribute show to the stage. Front and center\, taking on the role of Jim Morrison is Nash Stover. Nash doesn’t take his job of being Jim lightly. He studies Jim daily. From Jim’s vocals and stage persona\, to every detail of Jim’s ever-changing fashion sense. Jim Morrison was a complex man and Nash deeply respects every part of Jim’s legacy which shows true night after night on stage. On the Gibson SG and playing the role of Robby Krieger is Todd Huffman. Todd has been a Doors fan his entire life and has always considered Robby Krieger to be the most underrated guitar player of all time. Todd puts in countless hours not only practicing Robby’s guitar licks\, but also keeping every detail of Robby’s rig fine tuned. Robby Krieger is a hard role to play\, but Todd nails it. It takes a man with two brains to pull off playing the part of Ray Manzarek. Manning the Gibson G-101 organ while keeping the low end going on the Fender Rhodes piano bass is Nate Shaw. Maintaining the thumping bass with his left hand and the snarling organ with his right\, Nate really appreciates every ounce of talent that Ray Manzarek had. On the Mod Orange Ludwig Downbeat kit\, taking on the role of John Densmore is Jordyn Huffman. Jordyn learned to play drums to Doors albums when he was a teenager and has considered John Densmore to be the best drummer of all time ever since. John’s style on and off the drums was unlike that of any other and Jordyn loves that challenge. \nAll copy and pics from the website.
