DESCRIPTION:Lewes Tulip Celebration Celebrating our Dutch Heritage    \n \n  \nThe 14th  annual Lewes Tulip Celebration\, jointly sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Lewes in Bloom\, will be blossoming April 1 – 16\, 2023. The organizing committee is chaired by event founder and former Lewes Mayor Ted Becker\, and includes the Lewes in Bloom co-chairs and founder\, a representative from City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission\, the Lewes Historical Society and the Zwaanendael Museum. This year Lewes in Bloom funded the purchase of 32\,000 tulips and spring bulbs that were planted in fall 2022 by members of Lewes in Bloom. \nThe timing of the tulips’ appearance is an inexact science and either milder or colder weather in advance of the event dates can increase the probability that the dates of the celebration may not exactly coincide with the tulips blooming! The event dates (April 1-16) span three weekends.  The locations of the plantings are identified on the map produced in association with the celebration. More than 100 varieties will be on display. (Find a link to the Tulip Map at the end of the next paragraph). \nTiptoe To The Tulips Map: The event organizers created the Tiptoe To The Tulips Map that will be available in late March at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center located in the historic Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park. The visitor center is open Monday – Friday\, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Copies of the map will be available at brochure boxes throughout the historic commercial district. The map lists more than 20 locations where the bulbs were planted.
