“Village of Arden” Screening

September 12, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Special Event at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes

WHYY and Rehoboth Beach Film Society Partners to Present

THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN, DELAWARE

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society (RBFS) in partnership with WHYY will present a special screening of the episode, The Village of Arden part of the Movers and Makers series on Monday, September 12 at 3:00 PM at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes. This FREE event is open to all members and general audiences with much thanks to the support by Ida and Jeff Rowe.

Award-winning WHYY Producer Karen Smyles will be on-hand to lead a post-screening discussion with several Arden residents featured in the episode. In addition to the post-program, participants will be able to view archival materials from this historic artist village.

Producer Karen Smyles says, “The Village of Arden and its residents are delightful! This hub for the arts is like a place from another era and I enjoyed every minute I was there!”

The Village of Arden was founded in 1900 by sculptor Frank Stephens and architect Will Price as a single-tax community nestled northeast of Wilmington, DE right below the Pennsylvania state line. Stephens and Price created an arts & crafts colony that included people from all walks of life. In this WHYY Movers & Makers episode, you will experience the early architecture, meet the talented artists and performers of today, and discover why so many people flock there every year to attend The Arden Fair. [2022, USA, Runtime 28 min]

Admission for the screening is FREE. You must reserve seats by sending an email to info@rehobothfilm.com. Please include your name, phone number and how many will be attending.
