Fans of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery won’t be disappointed with this month’s lineup of new releases. And as usual, the concoctions of fermented grains are made with love and purpose. Proceeds from their sales are dedicated to local nonprofits organizations, with very thoughtful foresight.
This month during the traditional summer kickoff to our summer season, Dogfish Head is announcing two distinct flavors. This is not ice cream, mind you, but serious brewheads’ welcome to summer at the beach.
Dogfish Head has a charitable arm that directly benefits local non profits throughout Delaware, and now, they’ve jumped on an international benefit: the people of Ukraine.
Joining the Resolve Project, a collaborative effort between the Boston Beer Company of New York, and Ukraine’s own 2085 Brewery, as well as breweries coast to coast. The name of this limited brew is logically named Resolve, and Dogfish Head has its own version.
As usual as an ode to their slogan, “off-centered ales for off-centered people.” Resolve is actually an India Pale ale “Kellerbier,” which translates from the German “cellar beer.” If light-bodied and slightly citrusy beer is what you liked, it’s just in time for summer. Portions of the special edition will go towards humanitarian aid for Ukraine, so give it a try and feel good about doing so.
The phenomenal success and growth of Dogfish Head throughout Delaware – and now beyond in eight other states – has a lot to do with its modest beginnings with the support and popularity of its products from its Delawareans and visitors. The charitable philosophy of its owners and staff has its roots in wanting to give back to local organizations. Every year, the monthly Benevolence Nights raise several hundreds of dollars to distribute to causes everything from the performing arts to environmental conservation and sponsoring recreational efforts.
So you can contribute to their philanthropy while enjoying their varied flavors of ales. Much goes directly back to Delaware’s community renowned for its generosity. And good beer. Don’t you just LOVE LIVING HERE!
Details on trying Dogfish’s RESOLVE: it’s available on draft at the brewery Tasting Room & Kitchen in Milton, as well as Dogfish’s Rehoboth restaurants, Chesapeake & Maine and Brewings & Eats. It’s also available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans at Dogfish Head’s EmPOURium store in Rehoboth.
The second distinct flavor, their other late May release, is Stacks & Racks, which Dogfish describes as “an easy-drinking, summery IPA brewed with guava and passionfruit notes. Once again this year, 10 % of Stacks and Racks proceeds benefit the Freeman Arts Pavilion from an event that was held at the end of May at its Brewings & Eats location.
