Beebe Healthcare

Beebe Healthcare, a not-for-profit community hospital, licensed for 210 beds, is an award-winning independent local health system, recognized regularly for the quality of the healthcare it provides.

Beebe is accredited by The Joint Commission and has three campuses: the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, which houses the medical center; the Rehoboth Health Campus; the brand new South Coastal Health Campus near Millville that features a freestanding emergency department and cancer center. Beebe’s Emergency Department in Lewes is a Level III Trauma Center. The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing is the only hospital-based nursing school in the state.

Beebe Healthcare offers primary care as well as specialized services in the areas of cardiac, cardiothoracic, and vascular surgery, general surgery, robotic surgery, cancer treatment, women’s health, and orthopaedics. Beebe also offers gastroenterology and bariatric surgery.

Beebe Healthcare operates seven outpatient locations throughout Sussex County where the public can utilize Lab Express, Diagnostic Imaging, Physical Rehabilitation Services, and Walk-In Care. Beebe Healthcare outpatient services include: diabetes management, wound healing and hyperbaric medicine, an adult activities day center, and Home Care Services.

Beebe Healthcare is Creating the Next Generation of Care by mindfully investing in expanding our services in Sussex County—making excellent, innovative, and accessible care a reality for our friends, families, and neighbors for future generations. This $180 million dollar expansion effort is the largest in Beebe’s history and made possible in-part by generous contributions from the community. Included in the plan is the newly opened South Coastal Health Campus near Millville. This campus expands upon existing diagnostic imaging, physical rehabilitation, laboratory, and walk-in care services already offered in the Millville area, on Route 26. At the Rehoboth Health Campus on Route 24, a new Specialty Surgical Hospital will serve as a hub for outpatient and specialty surgical services, accommodating both shorter-term inpatients and outpatients. Construction on this project began in 2019 and is expected to be complete in 2022. In mid-2020, the Lewes Campus also opened its new west main entrance near the parking garage to enhance the patient drop-off experience.
