Director of Horticulture Garden Tours

Delaware Botanic Gardens Director of Horticulture, Stephen Pryce Lea, is offering 6 tours aligned with the seasons of the gardens. The following tours are available this year:
5/27 – Late Spring Meadow Tour – Enjoy the delights of a late Spring wild-flower meadow with DBG’s Director of Horticulture, learn how to balance a native garden with essential pollinator plants for Spring wildlife.
6/24 – Early Summer Meadow Tour – Spring into Summer with a leisurely stroll through DBG’s designer meadow, focusing on the benefits of growing native plants and the pollinators they attract.
7/22 – Summer Meadow Blooms and Pollinators Tour – Enjoy the scent of a summer meadow, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of DBG’s 2-acre meadow with a sensory tour of Piet Oudolf’s Meadow.
8/19 – Late Summer Meadow Tour – Meander through Delaware Botanic Gardens Meadow with an international plantsman and Director of Horticulture, observe plants as they share seeds, and learn how to collect and preserve seeds from your own garden plants.
10/7, 10/21 – Fall Gardening for Wildlife Meadow Tour – Join Stephen Pryce Lea for a return of this often sold-out tour of Piet Oudolf Meadow discussing garden maintenance and featured plants essential for providing wildlife with a food source, and habitat for the 5th season.
Reserve your ticket for entry into the gardens on the day of the program here. Guest fee for admission is $15, members are admitted free.
The cost to attend this tour is free for Members, Non-Members pay admission plus $10 and each tour starts at 2:00 pm.
