Join the City of Lewes African American Heritage Commission for its 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at George H.P. Smith Park! this free event will honor the historic significance of Juneteenth, the day commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. In the case of inclement weather, the celebration will move to Lewes Elementary School, located at 820 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
Celebrate freedom, culture, and community with a variety of activities, including live music, dance, poetry, vendors, delicious food, and more. The Juneteenth Celebration will offer a meaningful and enjoyable experience for people of all ages, fostering unity and understanding while reflecting on the importance of this pivotal moment in American history.
