Here are some suggested public or clublike places you can look into.
- Lewes Canalfront Park and Marina – Public pickleball and tennis courts with outdoor lighting, , open 7 days/week, scheduled by First Come First
- Factory Sports Complex, Lewes, features indoor courts, beginner and intermediate classes, Social Play at both levels
- Dave Marshall Tennis and Fitness, Lewes – large fitness center with indoor/outdoor courts, reserved play, outdoor pool, fitness center and classes
- City of Rehoboth Tennis/Pickleball Courts, located at Deauville Beach; tennis courts with painted pickleball margins; reservations made up to one week in advance through MindBodyOnline.com
- Sports at the Beach, Georgetown – indoor courts, open year-round, lessons, skills clinics, Social Play and competitive leagues available
- First State Pickleball Club – statewide membership organization; provide links and information on the sport, where to play, etc.
- Clayton Elementary School, Dagsboro – 10 courts managed by First State Pickleball Club
- Lewes Canalfront Park public courts
- Georgetown public courts
- Sea Colony, Bethany Beach (public/private, fees)

Here are some tips for you to consider as you get to know the local pickler scene:
- Consider joining First State Pickleball Club (FSPC). For an annual membership fee of $30, the club is an excellent source for lessons, social events, tournaments and even discounted pickleball gear and merchandise. Member or not, the site has a descriptive list of local courts with contact information.
- Pickleball Coaching International an educational organiztion that provides a list of local certified instructors. (Currently 3 listed locally.)
- USA Pickleball is an excellent resource for everything from official rules to approved paddles and balls to learning how to determine your level.
- The Pickler blog/podcast explains how to rate yourself, goes over the basics of play and the rules, tips and trends.
- Dave Marshall Tennis and Fitness in Lewes is also a good
- resource for instruction and indoor play on rainy days. (fees and reservations apply)
- Finally, the best resource to find out on a daily basis where
- games are being played and whether they are open to the public is Playtime Scheduler. This “authority” on actual local play time is a free app for computer or
- phone.
