“Sharing the story about their efforts to restore the Lightship Barnegat. The presentation will cover the group (non-profit) they have formed, the current condition of the lightship, the challenges they face, their short-term goals and long-term dreams. They will also be accepting questions, suggestions, and advice on their efforts.

BIO on Jaime Simpson:

A native of Pittsburgh, PA and a graduate of Towson University with a degree in Theater Design and Production. She then went on to Mercy Hospital School fo Nursing and became a RN at a large university hospital for over 15 years, holding positions as an ICU nurse, critical care transport nurse, certified flight nurse, case manager, and currently as an emergency room nurse at their trauma and burn center.

During the same time she began nursing school, Ms. Simpson joined the Prince Georges County Fire Department around the time she began nursing school and became a Nationally Pro-Boarded Fire Fighter 1&2, Fire Officer 1&2, Instructor 1&2, and she holds several Rescue Specialty Certifications. She is a Nationally Registered Paramedic and held the position of Volunteer Paramedic Coordinator for Prince Georges County Fire Department for over 12 years. Ms. Simpson still actively volunteers as a Fire Fighter Paramedic in Prince Georges County.

With wanderlust in her blood and a great passion for travel and adventure, Ms. Simpson and her dogs began traveling around the east coast to various National Parks in the spring of 2019. Through the National Park system, Ms. Simpson discovered the US Lighthouse and the hobby grew. Researching local attractions led to the discovery of the lightship Barnegat and through what can only be described as the perfect chain of events, met several other people interested in preserving the Barnegat and a group was formed.

BIO on Robert Frymoyer:

Frymore enlisted in the U.S. Coast guard immediately after graduating high school. He served 4 years in the Coast Guard reaching the position of Petty Officer Second Class. After his active duty time, he transferred to the Coast Guard reserves and entered a career as a Firefighter for Camden City, NJ. He worked there for 27 years and retired as Deputy Fire Marshal, Fire Official and sub-Code Official. After he retired from the Camden Fire department, Mr. Frymoyer served various other cities as Code Officer, Deputy Fire Chief as well as having his own business.”
