Each event offers participants the opportunity to partake in historical conversations, based on a given time in Delaware’s First Town history. This popular show is sponsored by the Lewes Historical Society and takes place in one of their atmospheric, historic buildings, often by candlelight. This interactive interpretation will not disappoint! Reservations are required, space is limited, and you must be 21 years of age to attend.
Journey back to 1813, pull up a chair and raise a pint in Mariner’s Tavern. Lewistown finds itself once again under a British naval blockade. Lend your voice to history and learn about the various perspectives of this blockade and daily life in Lewistown during the War of 1812. Journey back to historic Lewistown and raise a pint in Sussex Tavern at the Rabbits Ferry House on the Historical Society’s main campus. Through these immersive programs, guests will join historic interpreters during specific eras in Lewes’ past and lend their voices to the unfolding events.
