The Funsters, 6:30-8:30pm
Lewes Canalfront Park is where locals and visitors make friends and memories.
The site of the Canalfront Park has been a hub of activity since 1631 when the earliest Dutch settlers built their homes and fishermen launched their ships here.
Since 2010, the three-acre park and marina has been the heart of the community again, a spot to relax near the waterfront in historic Lewes and take part in year-round activities for grownups and kids.
The park along the Lewes & Rehoboth Canal is adjacent to the 1938 Lightship Overfalls, the historic Lewes Life Saving Station, Lewes Little League ball fields and tennis and pickleball courts.
It features a marina with floating docks, fishing pier with shelter, a cedar canalfront boardwalk, village green, lighted walkways with benches and shade arbors, landscaping using native waterfront plants, a canal overlook deck & pier, gazebo & arbor, playground, boat ramp for kayaks and canoes, restroom facilities, 28-space metered parking lot and a handicap ramp from the street to the village green and walkways.
Supported by and maintained by the Friends of Canalfront Park, it’s the perfect spot to stroll, picnic on the lawn and enjoy the permanent amenities and ongoing free events.
