OPEN JANUARY 8 at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is pleased to present the 2025 Exhibition on Screen™ (EOS) film series. EOS is the originator and pioneer of bringing exhibition-based art films to the cinema. Working with top international museums and galleries, EOS creates films that offer a cinematic immersion into the worlds best-loved or under rated artists, accompanied by insights from the world’s leading historians and arts critics. The five-part series will begin in January with brand new films each month through May. The focus of the series is to introduce the works of history’s greatest painters and to provide opportunities to view blockbuster art exhibitions from galleries worldwide.
The first film in the series is
VERMEER: THE GREATEST EXHIBITION
Wed., Jan 8 at 2 pm and Sat., Jan. 11 at 6 pm
With loans from across the world, this major retrospective will bring together Vermeer’s most famous masterpieces including Girl with a Pearl Earring, The Geographer, The Milkmaid, The Little Street, Lady Writing a Letter with her Maid, and Woman Holding a Balance. This film invites audiences to a private view of the exhibition, accompanied by the director of the Rijksmuseum and the curator of the show. [2023, US, Runtime: 90 min, Rating: NR]
All EOS screenings take place at the Cinema Art Theater, 17701 Dartmouth Drive, Dartmouth Plaza (behind the Lewes Wawa). Admission is $9 for RBFS members, $11.50 for general audience , $10 for seniors (65+) and $5 for students (with ID, must be purchased at the theater). Patrons are encouraged to purchase admission online at RehobothFilm.com. If seats are available, admission can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
