Delaware by Day: Four Acres Farm, An Unexpected Venture and Alpaca Farm

Looking for a fun and educational outing for you and your family? You must check out Four Acres Living Farm located in Frankford, Delaware. Four Acres Living is an alpaca farm owned and operated by Liz Ferguson and Jose Palma. Four Acres is a working farm that offers tours and alpaca walks. During the tours you will meet the forty-four alpacas that call the farm home, learn about the contributions they make, how the alpacas are cared for and lots of other alpaca trivia. And of course, you do not to miss out on an opportunity to feed those adorable fluffy alpacas.

Tours take place entirely in the barn so it’s the perfect rainy-day activity. Alpaca Walks are outdoors and take place even during light rain or snow.

Four Acres Living is open to visitors year-round on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. During the summer months the farm is open to visitors on Thursday as well. Reservations for tours and alpaca walks can be made online at fouracresliving.com.

Four Acres Living Farm has a store that is open to visitors with yarn, scarfs, hats and other items made from the fiber of the alpacas. You will also find other unique and fun items as well.

A visit to the farm is an awesome experience and opportunity to see a herd of alpacas in a wonderful setting. Take the family and grandkids on a tour or make a day of it when you are itching to have an adventure close by.
